Recently, CEEG successfully completed the delivery of key equipment for Phase II of the 220 kV substation capacity expansion project at the Tencent Nanjing East China Cloud Computing Base. Two large-capacity, high-impedance power transformers—model SZ20-80000/220/10.5—were delivered as scheduled. Facing the phased power shortfall caused by the rapid growth of electrical load at the base data center, CEEG accelerated delivery within a tight schedule, helping the substation to upgrade capacity on time and providing crucial support for securing data-center power supply.

一、Tencent East China core computing cluster: Power distribution capacity expansion is urgent
As Tencent's largest core data center and cloud computing base in East China, the Nanjing Tencent East China Cloud Computing Base project covers a total land area of 140,700 square meters and a total construction area of 171,500 square meters. The project includes eight three-story data center buildings and one R&D building, serving as a national-level supercomputing center for East China and nationwide, while also supporting computing capacity and aggregation functions for Nanjing’s “Internet+ government services,” smart city applications, and related platforms. With ongoing growth in business load, the base’s electricity demand is rising rapidly, and the supporting power system has begun Phase II capacity expansion to enhance power supply capability and operational resilience.

二、Main transformer in place, high-impedance stabilization for the data center’s high-density load
This delivery features SZ20 series large-capacity high-impedance on-load tap-changing power transformers (220 kV, 80 MVA) from CEEG. They are specifically designed for data centers with high-density loads and continuous operation. The product adopts a 28% high-impedance design to effectively limit short-circuit current while maintaining low energy consumption and power supply stability, building a robust electrical firewall for downstream precision equipment.

This product uses high-permeability silicon steel and precision windings, significantly reducing no-load and load losses and improving operating efficiency. Equipped with on-load tap changing, it enables voltage regulation without power interruption, ensuring a continuous and stable input voltage for high-density IT loads even under grid voltage fluctuations or rapidly changing load conditions. This enhances power supply adaptability and operational flexibility.

In addition, the unique seven-level temperature control and high-temperature resistant hybrid insulation system further enhances safety margins; the fully sealed structural design effectively reduces the risk of leakage, fully meeting the base's requirements for high reliability and long-term stable operation of the equipment.
三、End-to-end power supply solution for data centers
As demand for AI computing power continues to rise, data centers are placing higher requirements on power supply systems. Long-term operation of high-density loads increases energy consumption pressure; accelerated construction and expansion schedules compress delivery timelines; and limited equipment room space must be balanced with noise control, power supply continuity, and O&M efficiency. The design, delivery, and O&M difficulty of the power side thus increases.
CEEG deeply focuses on data center and compute-power scenarios, with outdoor 110/220/330 kV main transformers, indoor amorphous alloy dry-type transformers, and Bi Fang Integrated Power Modules as core components, forming an end-to-end data-center power-supply solution that balances energy efficiency, operational reliability, and project delivery efficiency.

四、Amorphous alloy dry-type transformers: The best partner for data center energy saving
Using high-permeability amorphous strip core and Nomex® insulation system, no-load losses are reduced by 60%–80% compared to traditional silicon steel solutions, while offering high-temperature resistance, voltage withstand capability, short-circuit protection, and dust/moisture resistance. This provides superior energy efficiency for long-term online operation of data centers.
五、Bifang Integrated Power Module: Plug-and-play, flexible expansion
Designed for integrated data center construction, the Bifang Integrated Power Module combines transformer cabinets, incoming line cabinets, bus tie cabinets, compensation cabinets, UPS units, and other systems into a single integrated solution. This significantly reduces on-site wiring and coordination efforts, accelerates deployment, and facilitates operation, maintenance, and capacity expansion. It is well suited for both new builds and retrofit or upgrade projects.
六、CEEG: Building the power foundation for computing infrastructure
From transformers to integrated power modules, CEEG leverages its mature manufacturing and delivery system to continuously serve scenarios such as data centers of the three major operators, achieving stable deliveries across key computing hubs including Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Guizhou, the Jiangsu–Zhejiang–Shanghai region, the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region, and the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.
Looking ahead, in response to the growth of AI computing power and the trend toward higher energy efficiency in data centers, CEEG will continue to focus on lower losses, higher efficiency, and more controllable delivery, providing a reliable and energy-efficient power foundation for the construction and expansion of computing infrastructure.
